PEOPLE-FIRST, RESOURCE-EFFICIENT MOBILITY…ELECTRIFIED

Climate-Compatible Transportation as a Destination

working draft

What it looks like to ramp down climate pollution from transportation 80% or more by 2050 while planning for hotter temperatures and uncertainty that is on the way:

Inclusive, Walkable Communities | People can affordably live near where they want to go and find it safe and enjoyable to walk or roll for transportation outside.

Great Mobility Options for Everyone | Communities of very size have full public transportation service networks, starting with buses and bikes, that are safe, inclusive, affordable, and convenient for all.

Design for Accessibility Rather Than Car Flow | The main goal of transportation shifts from maximizing flows of private cars to helping people reach destinations, activities, goods, and services neutral of technology.

Transportation Energy Productivity | Economic incentives meaningfully reward people for investments and travel choices that minimize climate pollution.

Widespread Efficient Vehicle Electrification | The whole transportation system is electrified in a way that maximizes the utilization and benefits of electrification resources.
